Treatment
Although treatment of food addicts has been on-going since the late 1980s, the field would benefit from collecting and analyzing data based on the experiences of practitioners in the field. The Foundation is working with Acorn Food Dependency Services to develop a survey for food addiction practitioners.
The goal of treatment evaluation is to train health care practitioners in the best practices available and to up-date treatment protocols as new knowledge about refined food addiction is created.
Ultimately, treatment evaluation will benefit from research conducted in a residential setting. Realization of this goal will depend on the success of fund-raising.
